According to versusarthritis.org, around 10 million people in the UK live with arthritis. That is an incredible amount of people living with joint pain every day, and there are even different types of arthritis affecting ⅙ of our population. The two most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis, and it is estimated that 5.4 million people have knee OA and an estimated 3.2 million people have hip OA.
Whilst you can develop arthritis at any age, it is more common among the elderly. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), arthritis is more common among adults aged 65 years or older.
The pain in a joint can reduce your mobility and balance, which increases the risk of falls, according to lifespan.org. We have noticed that those who suffer from arthritis are choosing a falls detector package or telecare watch to help give them the peace of mind that help is on hand should they ever have a fall due to arthritis pain. According to one study, people with pain in one lower joint, either a knee or hip, were 53 percent more likely to fall. Those with two affected joints had a 74 percent higher chance of falls while having three to four painful joints increased the chance to 85 percent.

Our Digital Lifeline & Pendant Package can be worn around the neck like a lanyard in case you suffer from arthritis in your hands and fingers and struggle closing watches or straps. It is also safe to use in the bath or shower, where trips and falls are more likely due to arthritis in the knees and hips.
Also our Digital Falls Detector Package has an automatic detection feature, meaning that should you have a fall and you cannot press the button due to arthritic pain, the device will detect you have fallen and put you in touch with our 24/7 monitoring centre.
