What Is Considered a ‘Hard Fall’?

A ‘hard fall’ refers to a sudden drop from a standing position without anything breaking the fall—such as falling straight down or sliding off furniture without support. This may also include slow or partial collapses that result in the person ending up on the floor.

Our automatic falls detectors are designed to recognise these types of incidents using built-in accelerometers and tilt sensors. However, not every fall will be detected—particularly if it’s a softer or broken fall.

Important: If you can, always press your emergency button to ensure an alert is sent in case the automatic system doesn’t detect the fall.

Better Safe Than Sorry: If in doubt, press your alarm for immediate support.
